Jed Record is a Red Hat certified systems engineer and linux expert. His experience as a systems administrator and networking engineer inspired him to design many perl, c and shell based administration tools. He now consults website managers and IT personnel on the integration of existing web-applications and emerging web services for content delivery using the linux operating system. Requested services include everything from serving tailored content for website visitors, linux downloads, linux for windows, password generators, fedora, open source, linux commands, as well as developing new methods for automating content creation.
The webtool is an http based web service designed to integrate the usefulness of many common reference sites on the web into a single search tool.
The pine-tools package is a set of useful parsing tools to aid in synchronizing the pine mailer program with palm-pilots and other programs that utilize a personalized addressbook. Also included is the contact command line program that allows you to query your addressbook without opening a mail program. This allows you to integrate email addressed and other data into scripts and other automated utilities.
passgen is a command-line program that I have written and ported to a variety of programming languages and interfaces. It generates strong, pronounceable passwords which should be easy to remember and therefore provide a useful method of increasing security without increasing the burden on users.
php-chat is as it sounds, a php scripted chat program. Originally designed for intranet collaboration, it is also useful in some customer support applications as well. Supported platforms include any webserver running php ver 4.0 and up.
