12-17-2001 <> version 0.5 in progress, no bugs reported for previous release so this should be just adding some new features (additional sounds, and some new options). Please email me at jed@5-20.org for additional feature requests and/or bug reports. --- Jed Record Linux Systems Administrator http://LinuxBuilt.com jed@5-20.org 6-6-2001 here is the latest and greatest, all due to the work of jed: updated the makefile to require less interventions between system, and added "make package" option as well. added a popup help screen/copyright page, the contents of which reside reside in Defcon.ABOUT/MAIN. added a sounds directory and played with defining sounds for each defcon level. this would probably be annoying, as jed points out, so it is not built by default. updated the readme file added a defcon.icon for the enlightenment epplet menu, and i quote: "It's supposed to be a backdrop of the mission control screen showing the incoming russian missiles and our outbound missiles with a W.O.P.R. logo on th bottom. The PNG format is 48x48 and looks OK at that size but I think the default epplet icon size is 24x24, looks ok like that but could be better.". looks good to me though... changed the version from 0.0.4 to 0.4. it fits better, and is prettier. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 4/9/2001 ver 0.0.3 yes, it's been a long time, and these changes aren't actually due to work i did, but were done by jed. good changes, and i guess i know that at least one person out there is using it. :) *added the ability to turn the sound on or off via the pop-up menu *added the version switch (-v) to the command line anyway, i tested it, and hopefully there's nothing horribly, horribly wrong with it. it works fine on my machine. :) anyway, if there are problems, let me know. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 12/15/1999 ver 0.0.2 *the numbers-not-changeing-when-the-epplet-has-the-focus-bug seems to be fixed, although it's not a fix i like. i can't figure out what's going on, but for now it seems to be working correctly. *i also added a menu so that you can change the color scheme while the epplet is open. *hmmm...oh yeah...now you don't have to give it command line options to start. it will just start up green. *i tried to clean up my code a bit too...we'll see if the changes, which i can't seem to remember, were worth it... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 11/30/1999 ver 0.0.1 initial release date!!! defcon is an epplet to monitor system load and report it as the current DefCon level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
